Making Vintage Christmas Angels with the Retro Felt Angel Craft Kit!

With this retro style craft kit, you can create 3 adorable vintage-inspired Christmas angels. The kit provides old-fashioned materials like spun cotton doll heads, premium felt, sequins and sparkling Lurex trims. When finished, the angels measure about 5 inches tall.

Part 1: Felt Gowns

  •  Use the template to cut out three gowns and three sleeve pieces from the felt roll.
  • Set a paper cone on a felt gown shape. Roll it up to check that the entire surface of the cone will be covered entirely, and reposition it if needed. Run a bead of glue along one edge of the felt, and press it onto the cone. Roll up the cone, pull the felt taut, and glue down the other edge.
  • Trim the lower edge of the felt flush with the cone. Then, cut off the top
1/2 inch of the tip of the cone.
  • Glue an angel head to the flat top of the cone with the felt seam at the back.
  • Lay a pipe cleaner along the length of a felt sleeve piece. Glue it in place.
  • Fold in the ends of the pipe cleaner, leaving just about 1/2 inch extending
past the felt. These will be the hands.Fold in the ends of the pipe cleaner, leaving just about 1/2 inch extending past the felt. These will be the hands.

  • Pose the arms to make elbow joints and a rounded back, and then attach the arms to the back of the angel with a dot of glue.

Part 2: Hairstyles

  • Select a piece of trim to create hair for the angel. Glue one end of the trim to the side or back of the head, and then coil or zig-zag the trim to cover the surface and design a hairstyle.

Part 3: Halos

  • Bend a piece of metallic trim into a circle to form a halo. A halo can be glued to the back of the neck, or wrapped around the forehead.

Part 4: Trimming

  • Decorate the angel's gown with sequins and remaining trims. Liquid white glue can be used to attach sequins instead of hot glue.
  • Attach the paper wings to the angel’s back with a dot of glue.
  • Pose the hands, and give the angel a miniature trinket to hold.
